On Wednesday, September 12, 2007,
at 7:30a.m, the North Shore Chamber of Commerce Economic
& Public Policy Breakfast Forum at the Peabody Marriott Hotel
will feature a talk by Senate Majority Leader, Frederick E. Berry.
Senator Berry is serving his twelfth term in the Massachusetts
Senate. First elected in 1982, Senator Berry represents the communities
of Beverly, Danvers, Peabody, Salem and Topsfield.
Originally named Senate Majority Leader in 2003, Senator Berry
was re-appointed to that position by Senate President Robert
Travaglini in January 2005. In addition to serving as Majority
Leader, Senator Berry serves on the Committees on Children &
Families and Mental Health & Substance Abuse.

Fred has served as Senate Assistant Majority Leader, Majority
Whip, Vice-Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ways and Means,
Chairman of the Committee on Steering and Policy, and the Senate
Chair of the Joint Committee on Housing and Urban Development.
Berry has also been a leading advocate for the rights of the
disabled. He was the lead sponsor of legislation to create the
Disabled Persons Protection Commission, and has led the fight
in the legislature for Early Intervention programs.
The Senator has worked hard to address the everyday issues facing
his constituents. Perhaps his greatest achievement was passage
of the "Berry Amendment" which provided approximately
$113 million in savings for water and sewer ratepayers in Berry's
district.
Please note date change to 2nd Wednesday, September 12.
