HISTORY: Today, all jobs require higher levels of education. Like all countries, Americans realize that education is a key to individual and collective opportunity in a hypercompetitive globalized society. Excellence in education improves governance and accountability, while helping strengthen democracy. It is instrumental in the development of our values and virtues. Businesses, honor these scholars who have exceeded in their education, as they will undoubtedly wind up working for local firms in the near future as the next generation of workers. Every employer of today requires that their prospective employees be well educated.

The scholars will be individually acknowledged and presented with awards in the presence of their parents and community leaders. The North Shore Chamber of Commerce believes that the foundation of good business is good education. Without achieving excellence in our schools we cannot achieve excellence in the workplace.

Business patrons are needed - Each year over 150 local Companies emerge as Patrons of the Honor Scholars Program. Each Patron will be personally noted in the Honor Scholars Evening Program Booklet at the dinner (1000 people), in the North Shore Business Journal (2500 subscribers) and also in numerous print and electronic releases to the media. Firms who sponsor 5 or more scholars receive an Ad in the Program Booklet.

Sponsorship is not a Scholarship. It provides dinner for the scholar at the event, an engraved pen and pencil set, and a personalized certificate of achievement.
